Managing Director Kent Wong was invited to take part in the panel at the annual Mining Indaba on 6 February in Cape Town, South Africa, together with the industry representatives including Independent Diamond Analyst Paul Zimnisky, Cannacord Genuity Analyst Des Kilalea, Arslanian Group Managing Director Sahag Arslanian and Namib Desert Diamonds (Namdia) Chief Executive Officer Kennedy Hamutenya, as well as the Honorary Chairman of Dubai Diamond Exchange and Executive Committee Member of World Federation of Diamond Bourses Peter Meeus as the moderator. The topic was “Diamonds: How will the industry adapt to millennials and synthetics?”, the panelists emphasised on the importance of creating customer-led shopping ambience and products, and offering online-to-offline experience to cater to the evolving preference and needs of millennials. They also discuss how to leverage Blockchain and advanced innovative technology to monitor and track natural diamonds, and to innovate disruptive diamond products such as CHOW TAI FOOK T MARK with unique marking, to give customers the highest confidence and assurance in buying diamond jewellery.
