Shaping the Future by Incubation, Inspiration and Discovery of New Talents in the Jewellery Sector

Jointly initiated by Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group and Chow Tai Fook Art Foundation, the new artistic incubation space "Loupe" is grandly opened. It serves as an important platform to discover and nurture young local and international talents, and aims to foster a creative and collaborative culture between designers, artisans and the public at large through engagement and education.

A press tour and a grand opening ceremony were held today. During the ceremony, Mr. Kent Wong, Chow Tai Fook Managing Director and Mr. Victor Tsang, the Head of CreateHK gave opening remarks to welcome all distinguished guests who joined the event. Mr. Stanley Chu, Chairman of PMQ and Ms. Margaret Fong, the Executive Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council were also present to witness the birth of this new artistic space. Furthermore, the jewellery pieces created by 10 designers-in-residence were showcased through a unique catwalk and dance performance.

Chow Tai Fook Managing Director, Kent Wong, said, "I am happy to present "Loupe" – a communal space for the public to become familiar with jewellery-making. It is a platform for designers to share their creations, and to express their creative passions. In the spirit of mentorship that is the foundation of Chow Tai Fook, the Design Residency Programme showcases the talents of emerging designers from Hong Kong and overseas, including Japan, France and Chile. All in all, we seek to inspire people through the art of jewellery, and to nurture the next generation of designers and artisans with Loupe."

Located at PMQ Central, a place for creative lifestyle experiences in Hong Kong, Loupe consists of 5 elements: Residency, Exhibition, Boutique, Teahouse and Education. Residency runs a comprehensive mentorship programme that provides guidance and a fully-equipped workshop to young jewellery design talents enabling their own creations and career development. An exhibition space allows emerging artists to showcase their works, sharing their vision and aesthetics through jewellery, design and different art forms. The boutique and teahouse complete the overall experience of Loupe as the public can enjoy their time at Loupe with an enhanced dining and shopping experience. Loupe also offers a wide array of educational activities as a platform for exchange and public engagement in design and craftsmanship.
