The Group Starts Manufacturing Face Masks
26 Mar 2020

Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Limited (“Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group”, “the Group” or “the Company”; SEHK stock code: 1929), a Hong Kong Main Board listed company with over 90 years of heritage, is pleased to announce that the Group has set up its in-house face mask production line leveraging the Group’s high standard dust-free cleanroom technology in its T MARK diamond processing factory in Lunjiao, Shunde. The production line has commenced its operation on 19 March, with a capability of around 100,000 pieces of face mask per day. To better protect the safety and health of all staff and address the needs of the society, priority for face mask distribution will be given to the Group’s employees worldwide at the moment, while donation for charitable purpose will be considered once productivity increased.

“Anti-epidemic materials are short in supply under the global outbreak”, said Bobby Liu, Executive Director of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group. “To take good care of more than 30,000 employees worldwide, the Group has to secure adequate supply of face masks for our staff to ensure they can return to work safely and worry-free. In response to this challenge, we shifted from global sourcing to producing our own face masks. Contributing to fight against the outbreak, we plan to donate face masks to people in need through medical institutions or non-profit organisation once we ramped up our production.”

Furthermore, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group has already established an anti-coronavirus fund in the early stage of the outbreak and sourced over 1 million face masks around the world to provide anti-epidemic materials to frontline medical workers in areas with serious clusters of infections.
