Mr. Kent Wong, the Managing Director of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group and Chairman of the Jewellers’ and Goldsmiths’ Association of Hong Kong, has participated in a series of significant industry events held in September to meet with industry leaders to engage in discussions, share insights, and explore the challenges and opportunities relating to the future of natural diamonds in the jewellery retail industry. These events were the Diamond Industry Trade Forum organised by Diamond Federation of Hong Kong (DFHK) and a media luncheon co-hosted by the DFHK and the Natural Diamond Council (NDC).

At the media luncheon, Mr. Wong shared his views on opportunities for the local jewellery industry in the post-pandemic recovery. He expressed a positive outlook for the natural diamond market in Hong Kong, underlining its key strengths and ongoing product innovation and enhancements.

As a keynote speaker and panellist at the Forum, Mr. Wong highlighted “In Chinese and other Asian cultures, the value of authenticity is held in high regard among consumers. They recognise that only genuine, unique natural diamonds embody the essence of eternal love and commitment, thus endowing them with immeasurable emotional value.”

“We will persist in working closely with our industry partners to enhance promotional and educational initiatives. The focus of these initiatives is to educate consumers about the distinct significance of natural diamonds, thereby empowering them to make well-informed and thoughtful choices,” added Mr. Wong.
