Since 2022, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group has been a supporter of innovation and digital transformation, playing a key role in the establishment of the Greater Bay Area Digital Economy Research Center at Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management in Shenzhen. This visionary initiative is designed to advance research in digital technologies, aligning with the national strategic goals to foster innovation and drive industry-wide transformation.
A significant moment in this collaboration came when Mr. Chen Yu-Bo, the Party Secretary of the School of Economics and Management at the Tsinghua University, Ms. Feng Juan, the Director of the Greater Bay Area Digital Economy Research Center at the Shenzhen Research Institute, and Mr. Herbert Chia Pun-Kok, independent non-executive Director of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group, officially unveiled the Center. This partnership not only bridges academia and industry but also represents a significant investment in the future of the jewellery industry, positioning it at the cutting edge of digital innovation.
The launch ceremony in January 2024 was a highlight of the Greater Bay Area Digital Economy Forum, a prestigious event that brought together leading experts, scholars, and industry pioneers to explore the transformative power of the digital economy. During the forum, Mr. Chia delivered an inspiring keynote speech titled “Seizing Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area: Insights from the Top Ten International Events”, which highlighted ten significant events in 2023 related to digital transformation. Mr. Chia emphasised that the digital economy has become a cornerstone of top-level management strategies, shaping industries and economies worldwide. His insights not only deepened the audience’s understanding of global trends but also provided valuable guidance for the future development of the jewellery industry.
Through its collaboration with the Tsinghua University, we are committed to driving breakthroughs in the digital economy, paving the way for higher quality, efficiency, and innovation in the industry. This initiative is not just a response to current market demands but a proactive strategy to address future challenges, ensuring the industry remains resilient and forward-thinking in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
