Supporting Cross-Regional Student Journalists at China Daily’s Campus News Awards 2024
For the second consecutive year, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group has proudly supported the China Daily’s Campus News Awards as the lead sponsor, recognising and nurturing the talents of young journalists. The 2024 awards presentation ceremony, held in December 2024 in Zhuhai, Guangdong, was a vibrant celebration of creativity, dedication, and journalistic excellence, bringing together student journalists from across the region to honour their outstanding achievements.
The competition was a testament to the passion for storytelling among the youth, attracting an impressive 1,000 entries from over 3,000 students representing nearly 100 universities across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. The event culminated in the presentation of 28 awards, each celebrating the unique voices and perspectives of these aspiring journalists. The ceremony was officiated by the presence of Mr. Cheuk Wing-Hing, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, who joined other esteemed guests in applauding the winners and their remarkable contributions to journalism.
Mr. Kent Wong Siu-Kee, Managing Director of the Group, took pride in presenting the Best in News Writing awards. In his inspiring address, he encouraged the students to continue to pursue their passion for storytelling with vision and explore the boundless opportunities arising from the dynamic development of the Greater Bay Area.
Prior to the ceremony, over 170 students and guests were invited to visit Chow Tai Fook’s Shunde Artisanal Smart Manufacturing Centre. This exclusive tour created an immersive experience, offering students a behind-the-scenes look at the intricate blend of traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology that defines our operations. Guided by our professional team, the attendees gained valuable insights into the business’s innovative practices and the rich cultural heritage of the Greater Bay Area.
