Chinese Gold Craftsmanship Heritage Education Programme Cultivates Cultural Literacy for the Next Generation
In 2024, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group entered into an exclusive five-year strategic partnership with the Hong Kong Palace Museum to launch the “Chinese Gold Craftsmanship Heritage Education Programme”. This initiative reflects the Group’s commitment to cultural leadership and its role in cultivating appreciation for Chinese heritage and craftsmanship across generations.
The first phase of the programme commenced in 2025, focusing on early childhood education through immersive and age-appropriate experiences. Over 140 kindergarten pupils participated in four interactive “Golden Magician” workshops held between May and June, which featured storytelling on ancient gold artefacts, theatrical performances, and hands-on creative crafts. Educational kits and teaching materials will be distributed to 107 kindergartens, reaching more than 4,900 teachers and students between July and September.
The programme received highly positive feedback from educators, affirming its cultural and educational value. Ms May Lau Ming Yin, Director of Social Impact of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group, highlighted the importance of transforming complex cultural knowledge into accessible and engaging formats that inspire lifelong learning and pride in Chinese artistry.
Looking ahead, the programme will expand to primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, incorporating masterclasses, workshops, and cultural study tours, with a projected reach of over 50,000 participants. Through this initiative, the Group continues to nurture creativity and cultural awareness, inspiring the next generation of innovators and artisans.
